Step 3: SEBI SCORES
You may also register a complaint on SEBI’s complaint redress system, SCORES: https://scores.sebi.gov.in. SEBI forwards the complaint to the manager, who must redress it within 21 days of receipt. Complaints may also be sent to the Office of Investor Assistance and Education, SEBI Bhavan, Plot No. C4-A, G Block, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Bandra (E), Mumbai 400051.
Arbitration
A dispute not resolved through the above may be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, in line with the contribution agreement of the fund concerned.
Digital accessibility
Investors with disabilities are entitled to full and equitable access to the funds’ digital platforms. The Compliance Officer of your fund is the Nodal Officer for digital accessibility. Accessibility issues can be reported to the same contacts above, or on SCORES under the “Accessibility” category.
Investor Charter
Vision. To develop the AIF industry on professional and ethical lines and maintain high standards of governance and transparency.
Mission. Maintain high professional and ethical standards; comply with all applicable regulations and co-operate with the regulators; act in a fiduciary capacity towards investors.
Services to investors. Onboarding (sharing the PPM, KYC, fund documents, contribution agreement); obtaining consent for material changes; sharing financial and valuation information; disclosing material risks and any conflicts of interest; intimating non-material changes; and grievance redressal.
Timelines. Response to an investor complaint, and redressal of a complaint received from SEBI/SCORES: within 21 days of receipt. Other timelines are set out in the Investor Charter in each fund’s Private Placement Memorandum, which prevails.
Investor responsibilities. Read the fund documents and understand the risks; give complete and accurate KYC information and keep it updated; abide by the contribution agreement; use reliable sources of investment information; and keep non-public fund information confidential.
